Jennifer Mival

As International Commissioning Editor, Development Executive and Format Expert, Jennifer Mival has extensive leadership experience in entertainment with a focus on content strategy, format development and production for streaming services and TV channels along with a wide ranging expertise in the international format licensing business.
She is currently a founding Professor for the new MA in Entertainment Producing at the ifs internationale filmschule köln, which is the first and only MA in German-speaking Europe which focuses on the production and distribution of non-fictional entertainment formats. The first MA programme, which starts in September 2021 collaborates with partners like Netflix, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, All3Media, Banijay Productions Germany, Endemol Shine Germany, Seapoint, Sony Pictures, Fernseh Produktion, Ufa Show & Factual and Warner Bros International Television Production.
Most recently, Mival was at Netflix overseeing the streamers' move into Unscripted and Doc Series Originals in German-speaking Europe and Scandinavia and responsible for its first slate of original commissions such as the doc series "Das Hausboot" with Fynn Kliemann und Olli Schulz, the talk-show "Frank Elstner: Wetten, das War's" and the competition format "Sing On" hosted by Palina Rojinski.
Previously, Mival was Executive Producer and Head of Formats at Seapoint, ITV Studios and ProSiebensat1 and Director of Progams at the youth channel Joiz. Since 2011, she has held teaching positions at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf for format development and transmedia storytelling for the Master of Media Studies and the Bachelor of Digital Media Culture.
