Katrin von Kap-herr holds a degree in cultural studies and a doctorate in media studies with a focus on film and media studies. After gaining professional experience in film and television production, film festivals and exhibitions, she is currently working as a research assistant for European Media Studies, a joint project of the University of Potsdam and the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (FH Potsdam), and in a research project on participation and audiovisual communication at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.

She is interested in classical as well as mass media genres of technical visual media. In particular, she teaches and researches cultural and aesthetic practices in the digital age, modes of media presentation, ecocinema and storytelling, AI and media.
