Managing Editor at NewsGuard Germany

Marie Richter has been part of NewsGuard's Germany team since 2019. As Managing Editor,

Germany, she leads the team's editorial work and coordinates the analyses of German-

language online media in collaboration with a team of freelancers. In addition to this

operational management, she also oversees NewsGuard's media literacy program for

libraries and various partnerships with both private and public organizations in the media,

advertising, research and education sectors.

A graduate from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Richter previously

worked for a German-American law firm. She has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah

Lawrence College, where she studied international relations, literature and writing. During

her undergraduate studies, Richter interned with the Council on Foreign Relations, PEN

America, and the Argentine Congress in Buenos Aires.
