Over a 35-year film career, Ted Hope has been a Producer on over 70 films, Studio Executive on over 60, CEO of a start-up streamer, Co-head of three production companies, Executive Director of a film society, and Founder of a post-production facility, two websites, two think tanks and an app. His second edition memoir 'Hope For Film' was published in August 2020 and is a must-read. His films as a producer have received 25 Oscar nominations, with six wins, while his films as an executive have received 19 Oscar nominations with five wins. Hope also launched Amazon’s foray into feature film production, co-running it for much of his tenure.
Working his way up from a Production Assistant to Production Manager, Assistant Director, Line Producer, and finally Producer, Hope’s eye for directorial talent helped launch the feature film careers of Ang Lee, Hal Hartley, Michel Gondry, Nicole Holofcener, and many others. 2021 marks his return to independent producing and he has five films to show for it.
Hope has three films currently in post production: "Tender Bar", starring Ben Affleck, and directed by George Clooney; "Cassandro", starring Gael Garcia Bernal, and directed by Roger Ross Williams; and the documentary "Invisible Nation", directed by Vanessa Hope. The final films of his executive run at Amazon have also premiered in 2021: "Annette" and "The Electric Life of Louis Wain".
