Director Strategic Initiatives at City University of New York
Anita Zielina is an experienced digital media executive with a focus on digital transformation, change processes, and innovation management. At the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at City University New York , where she is currently the director of strategic initiatives, she has created several certificate courses and programs for news media executives.
Before that her professional stations were as Chief Product Officer of the NZZ, where she was responsible for all digital products, and as deputy editor-in-chief at the weekly magazine STERN in Hamburg as well as various positions at the Austrian STANDARD. She also received several fellowships: In 2012 at Stanford University, where she focused on innovation management in media and user engagement, and 2018 at the Reuters Institute, Oxford University, dedicated to leadership in media.
She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Vienna and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
