Chairman at Steinbeis Foundation Board
Prof. Dr. Michael Auer is Chairman of the Steinbeis Foundation Board. The foundation works on how to leverage the know-how derived from research, development, consulting, and training projects and how to transfer this knowledge into application – with a clear focus on entrepreneurial practice.
Michael Auer has been interested in technology transfer from his studies on. He obtained a degree in electrical engineering and one in industrial engineering and then a PhD at Karlsruhe University with a dissertation on “Transfer Entrepreneurship – Successful Organization of Technology Transfer".
After then working as development engineer, he started his career at Steinbeis in 1990, where he took different positions in the foundation as well as the headquarters and the Steinbeis University. Since 2002 he is Professor of Management at the Steinbeis University and since 2004 Board Member of the Steinbeis Foundation, of which he became Chairman in 2012.
