Cathrine Bui is passionate about gender bias in AI “...because I don't want to live in a world where algorithms oppress me into a small corner of the world”.
Cathrine combines her experience leading the EQUALS Research Coalition on digital gender equality with her technical background in computer science to bridge the gap between engineers and social science for more responsible AI. Her Master’s thesis from the University of Oslo on “Gender Bias in AI” won an award at the 2021 NORA NordicAIMeet, and she has also won the NORA 'Diversity in AI' Award for her work on responsible AI.
Cathrine’s company, Bui Consulting, was part of the Google WeStart incubator program, and provides keynotes, workshops, management consulting, and AI development services. Past customers include
companies such as Cisco and DNB Bank, the biggest bank in the Nordics.
